Friday, May 7

On Friday afternoon/evening, we have a number of preparations happening in the town center. It’s always a fun atmosphere in anticipation of the festivities the next day. We play music, grab a bite to eat (paid for by the Bizarre), giggle and chuckle, and do a little dance for good weather on Saturday. Street Closure Preparations (“No Parking Bags)

“No Parking” Signage

  1. Task: Hand plastic “No Parking” bags on parking signs in downtown area

  6. Other: Step Ladder is handy unless you’re 6’ 8” tall

Vendor Space Chalking

  1. Task: Mark spaces at US Bank used by 70+ vendors

  3. Volunteers Needed: 3
  4. Meeting Time/Place: 5:30pm/US Bank Parking Lot
  5. Time Required: 1 hour
  6. Other: Clothes should be okay to get a lil’ chalky

Float Preparations

  1. Task: Prepare Bizarre float for voyage in morning

Vendor Assistance

  1. Task: Assist vendors unloading from John Street to US Bank

  5. Time Required: 1.5 hours
  6. Other: Hand Trucks/Dollies are very welcome if you have them.

Bier Garten Set-Up

  1. Task: Set up crowd barriers, tables, chairs, decorations, canopies, etc

  4. Meeting Time/Place: 9:00am/Plaza
  5. Time Required: 1 hour
  6. Other: Work Clothes 

Equipment Runners

  1. Task: Drive to nearby locations to grab tables, chairs, etc
