2010 will officially mark The St. Johns Bizarre fourth year of creating a community forum of neighbors and friends coming together to celebrate our community. The Bizarre was started in 2007 as a way to keep parade-goers from packing up and heading home after the St. Johns Parade. Rather, we hope to display all that our little community has to offer. The Bizarre is a showcase of the unique and eclectic character of North Portland. Included is local music, street performers, a vendor’s market, sausage, pizza, a Bier Garten, kids art activities, and a close proximity to all the wonderful business located in the St. Johns town center.

Vendors
The St. Johns Bizarre Street Fair is a one-day event in downtown St. Johns celebrating the unique character of North Portland. The St. Johns downtown section of Lombard Street will be officially closed for the event. We promote artists who enhance the Bizarre’s appeal with arts & crafts, handmade and demonstrations. We are committed to our vendors, participants and community to make your experience with us enjoyable.

Bier Garten
Anna Bananas will be serving up a great selection of beers from our finest local breweries at what we affectionately call “Ye Ol’ Der Bier Garten”. The list includes Lompoc Brewery, Ninkasi Brewery, and Silver Moon Brewery (Panty Dropper Ale).
Kids
Last year kids and parents alike raved about our Creation Station, where kids were guided to design, create, paint, and hang their own individual wildlife art. Families were to offered to purchase their art for a very small fee or donate the artwork to Anna Bananas to be displayed the following weeks after the Bizarre.
Business
This year, businesses have been encouraged to get involved with what we call the Bizarre Bargain. This is a special offering at each business where customers can get a unique deal ONLY offered during the St. Johns Bizarre. So far, we’ve received an awesome response from the business community. Parade & Bizarre-goers are in for some great bargains at the shops here in St. Johns!
